Starting and stopping the gateway

If installed by image or script

This section outlines how to manage the Yombo Gateway service if you if you are using a Yombo image or installed Yombo using one of our installation scripts.

Starting / Stopping the service

To start daemon as a background service, open a command prompt and type ybo daemon. This runs the Yombo Gateway service in daemon mode and doesn't display any logs.

To stop, open a command prompt and type ybo stop. This should stop the Yombo Gateway background service.

Manually running the gateway

When developing a module it is common to manually run the Yombo Gateway in the foreground so that it's output can be easily monitored. To do:

  1. Open a command prompt.
  2. Stop the background service, type ybo stop.
  3. Start Yombo Gateway in the foreground with ybo start.

This section outlines how to manage the Yombo Gateway software if you did not use the installation script or an image.

Manually running the gateway

To manually start the gateway:

  1. Open a command prompt.
  2. Change to the directory where the software is installed.
  3. Start Yombo Gateway in the foreground with ybo start.
